The most common presentation in the first year of life is Irritable Baby Syndrome. We look in detail at the various conditions associated with this presentation. This Module provides you with the knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage each condition along with the ability to provide the best literature based advice for your patient’s parents. We incorporate the acronym STAPH-C for dealing with the irritable infant - Sick, Tired, Allergy, Pain (including subluxation), Hunger, and Cuddle. You will be able to deal confidently with the questions: “What’s wrong?”, “Is this normal?”, “Why is my baby crying?” and “Can you fix it?”
